Permanent Participatory Action Research (PAR) and Practical Landscape Manual (PLM) Workshop in La Gomera with the aim of practicing a methodology of knowledge dialogue (wisdom) based on testimonies from local farmers and citizens, analyzing the history, the current status and the future of terraces in different areas of La Gomera. The event is proposed as a permanent activity, starting with a first phase of learning the theory and method of PAR and PLM (February 2018) and continuing with the application of this methodology in the development of field work.
The first phase of field work will begin in February with the teaching of the theory and methodology to be developed and its application in the field work from January to September/October 2018.
The second phase will take place in autumn 2018 and will be a first elaboration of the results with their interpretation and exposition. After that, the fieldwork will continue with the theme of the re-enchantment of terraces until March 2019 and outstanding farmers and builders will be selected to attend the IV ITLA World Congress.
Event 1 will finish with a third phase where the proposals and initiatives of the event will come together in the IV Terraced Landscapes World Congress.
The number of participants in the fieldwork will be between 12 and 18, technicians of the public institutions of La Gomera, members of local associations and of the Biosphere Reserve as well as representatives from institutions on other islands of the Archipelago.Download Brochure
